Bioton confirms chief executive steps down

WARSAW, Jan 16 (Reuters) - Polish insulin maker Bioton BOTN.WA confirmed on Friday that its Chief Executive Adam Wilczega would leave the top post but will remain on as the company’s deputy head.

Wilczega will be replaced by Janusz Guy, an pharmaceuticals industry insider who once headed Polish drug maker Polfa Kutno and most recently served as a top official at Carlyle Group’s central European unit.

Reuters reported earlier that Wilczega would step down and a subsidiary of Poland’s drug maker Polpharma has dropped plans to buy a 33 percent stake in Bioton. (Reporting by Chris Borowski)
