Brazil govt supports foreign land purchases -official

BRASILIA, Jan 14 (Reuters) - Brazil’s land issues secretary within the Agriculture Ministry said on Monday that the government offers its support for foreign investors interested in buying land in Brazil, a practice which is currently prohibited.

A change to the law to allow foreigners to directly purchase land would require Congressional approval, Secretary Nabhan Garcia told reporters.
