Privatizations not aimed at narrowing budget gap, Brazil's Temer says

SAO PAULO, Aug 25 (Reuters) - Brazil’s plan to sell off government assets and privatize state companies is not aimed at covering a budget gap but at offering better services, President Michel Temer said on Friday in a video broadcast via Twitter.

The government this week unveiled a massive plan to sell state assets including stakes in some of the country’s busiest airports as well as oil exploration, highway and power dam licensing rights. (Reporting by Bruno Federowski)
