* S&P maintains Qatar’S sovereign credit rating at AA-; revises outlook to negative from creditwatch negative

* S&P says expect ongoing boycott of Qatar’s economy will lead to slower economic growth and hamper fiscal and external performance

* S&P says negative outlook reflects view of potential consequences of boycott on Qatar’s economic, fiscal, and external metrics

* Ratings affirmation reflects expectation that authorities will continue to manage impact of boycott while preserving Qatar’s core rating strengths

* S&P says in its view, current tensions weaken cohesiveness of the gulf cooperation council, complicate policy predictability, particularly for Qatar
