Aug 18 (Reuters) - U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention:

* U.S. CDC updates on multistate outbreak of Salmonella infections linked to imported Maradol papayas

* Since last update on Aug 11, 34 more sick people have been reported in the multistate outbreak of Salmonella infections, including 14 hospitalized​

* 2 more states -Missouri, Tennessee- reported ill people from multistate outbreak of Salmonella infections linked to imported Maradol papayas

* 2 illnesses from Louisiana, New Jersey removed from notice as lab testing showed they were not related to outbreak of Salmonella infections​

* Two new strains of salmonella have been added since last update regarding the multistate outbreak of Salmonella infections

* Epidemiologic, lab evidence indicates Maradol papayas from the Carica De Campeche farm in Mexico are likely source of multistate outbreak
