UK govt unlikely to oppose push to put PM's Brexit vote pledge in writing -spokesman

LONDON, Feb 27 (Reuters) - Britain’s government is unlikely to oppose on Wednesday a proposal that puts in writing Prime Minister Theresa May’s pledge to offer parliament a vote on a no deal Brexit or delay if her deal fails to win approval, her spokesman said.

The spokesman told reporters that the so-called amendment was not necessary as the prime minister has already made her promise but that the government was not likely to oppose it. (Reporting by William James, writing by Elizabeth Piper, Editing by Kylie MacLellan)
