LONDON, March 10 (Reuters) - Members of the rebel Libyan National Council are “valid interlocutors”, Britain’s Foreign Office said on Thursday after France recognised the council as the legitimate representative of the Libyan people. “The UK recognises states, not governments. The interim national council are valid interlocutors, with whom we wish to work closely,” a spokesman for the Foreign Office told Reuters.
“We’ve made it clear that Gaddafi must go now. We are working closely with international partners to achieve this. We are considering a range of options and look forward to discussing these with President Sarkozy and the other partners at tomorrow’s European council.” (Reporting by Olesya Dmitracova)
