UK watchdog announces probe related to London Capital & Finance failure

LONDON, April 1 (Reuters) - Britain’s markets watchdog said on Monday there will be an independent review into its handling of London Capital & Finance which collapsed last month with losses for thousands of investors in “mini bonds”.

The Financial Conduct Authority said that at a meeting last Thursday its board decided the investigation will also look at whether the existing regulatory system adequately protects retail buyers of mini-bonds.
