LONDON, April 10 (Reuters) -
* First wind turbine installed at Scotland’s European Offshore Wind Deployment Centre, the first 8.8 megawatt (MW) turbine installed commercially in the offshore wind industry, Vattenfall said on Tuesday
* The facility is an offshore wind test and demonstration facility being developed by Vattenfall’s Aberdeen Offshore Wind Farm Limited
* The turbine is the first of 11 to be deployed at the site in Aberdeen Bay
* Another turbine’s capacity has also been increased to 8.8 MW from 8.4 MW
* This boosts the facility’s output to 93.2 MW and it will produce 70 percent of Aberdeen’s domestic electricity demand
