TORONTO, Dec 16 (Reuters) - Canada’s main stock index ended more than 1 percent higher on Tuesday, boosted by a 46 percent surge in Talisman Energy Inc shares after Spanish oil major Repsol said it would pay $13 billion for the independent producer.
The Toronto Stock Exchange’s S&P/TSX composite index unofficially closed up 156.38 points, or 1.14 percent, at 13,861.52. (Reporting by Alastair Sharp; Editing by Alan Crosby)
