TORONTO, July 19 (Reuters) - Canada’s main stock index opened higher on Wednesday, as financial firms and resource companies, key heavyweight sectors, eked out modest gains.
The Toronto Stock Exchange’s S&P/TSX composite index rose 19.91 points, or 0.13 percent, to 15,169.48 shortly after the open. Eight of the index’s 10 main groups advanced. (Reporting by Solarina Ho)
