March 16 (Reuters) - Canada’s main stock index opened higher on Friday, boosted by the heavyweight financial and energy sectors as shares of oil companies were lifted by the higher price of crude.
* At 9:34 a.m. ET (13:34 GMT), the Toronto Stock Exchange’s S&P/TSX composite index was up 42.89 points, or 0.27 percent, at 15,713.51.
