Credit repair company gets permanent ban in judgment with CFPB

California company Prime Marketing Holdings will be permanently barred from the credit repair industry under a judgment approved on Thursday ending an enforcement action by the U.S. Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

Filed last September, the CFPB’s lawsuit said Prime Marketing collected millions of dollars from consumers with false assurances that it could remove virtually any negative information from credit reports and significantly boost credit scores. Prime Marketing also collected fees before it provided any services, violating federal regulations, the CFPB said.
