Nov 17 (Reuters) - China should set an annual average economic growth target of around 5% for the 2021-2025 period, a senior economist at a Chinese state think tank said on Tuesday.
Li Xuesong, deputy director of the Institute of Industrial Economics at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, made the remarks during a press briefing in Beijing.
Policy sources told Reuters earlier in November that Beijing is close to setting an average annual economic growth target of around 5% for the next five years. (Reporting by Kevin Yao; Writing by Se Young Lee; Editing by Tom Hogue)
