(Adds details on latest urban railway project) BEIJING, March 26 (Reuters) - China has approved or revived railway and highway projects as part of trillions of yuan of infrastructure investment, as it seeks to spur growth in an economy that is widely expected to have contracted in the first quarter of the year amid the coronavirus pandemic. It aims to nearly double its urban railway track to 6,000 kilometres (3,730 miles) this year, and increase its high-speed rail network to 30,000 km, up from 19,000 km in 2015, its state council - or cabinet - says. Below is a list of rail and highway projects China has approved or plans to accelerate. DATE LOCATION PROJECT DETAILS ANNOUNCED 9-Aug-2018 Hubei Railway The central province plans to launch three to four railway links every year in the next three years. 10-Aug-2018 Guizhou High-speed The southwestern province plans a railway high-speed railway to link all of its cities with its capital of Guiyang. 11-Aug-2018 Tibet Railway Tibet's accelerated railway plans include the Sichuan-Tibet project in the next five years. The 1,700 km line connecting Lhasa and Chengdu will traverse mountains and gorges, and cost about 250 billion yuan ($35.8 billion). 14-Aug-2018 Suzhou Urban The eastern city plans four new subway railway lines by 2023. The 137-km project will cost 95 billion yuan ($14 billion). 28-Aug-2018 Shenzhen Urban The southern city will have 33 subway railway lines operating on 1,335 km of track by 2035, nearly five times the current network size. 17-Oct-2018 Shanghai/ High-speed The 36.8 billion yuan ($5.26 Suzhou/Hu railway billion)railway project will start in zhou Shanghai and run through Suzhou city in Jiangsu province to Huzhou city in Zhejiang province. 30-Oct-2018 Chongqing High-speed The 53.5 billion yuan ($7.65 billion), railway 265-km railway project will be built in Chongqing city, part of a network to connect Chongqing with the southern city of Xiamen. 9-Dec-2018 Henan Highway The central province of Henan plans to spend 108.6 billion yuan ($15.54 billion) on 14 highway projects next year that will cover an estimated 1002 km. 19-Dec-2018 Hangzhou Urban The eastern city of Hangzhou received a railway greenlight to spend another 14 billion yuan ($2.0 billion) on two existing urban railway projects, raising the total investment to 53.54 billion yuan ($7.66 billion). The city also plans a new airport express line. 19-Dec-2018 Shanghai Urban Shanghai will build six more subway railway lines and three inter-city railways for a total investment of 298.35 billion yuan ($42.68 billion). The city's transportation network will span 1154 km in five years. 21-Dec-2018 Guangxi Intercity The southern region of Guangxi received railway a greenlight to build two intercity railway lines worth 51.7 billion yuan ($7.40 billion), spanning 325 km when completed. 25-Dec-2018 Shaanxi High-speed The National Development and Reform railway Commission approved a 55.16 billion yuan ($7.89 billion) high-speed railway project linking Shaanxi's provincial capital Xian with Yanan, a region of about 2 million north of the city. The project is expected to be completed in 4-1/2 years. 28-Dec-2018 Changchun Urban The state planner approved 71.14 railway billion yuan ($10.18 billion) for 116 km of urban railway projects in the northeastern city. 2-Jan-2019 Jiangsu Intercity The state planner approved a new railway intercity railway network worth 218 billion yuan ($31.2 billion) in the eastern province of Jiangsu. The railway tracks will span 980 km when completed in 2025. 4-Jan-2019 Wuhan Urban The state planner approved 146.9 railway billion yuan ($21.02 billion) of urban railway projects in the central city of Wuhan with a total length of 198.4 km. 25-Apr-2019 Zhengzhou Urban The state planner approved urban railway railway projects worth a total of 113.89 billion yuan ($16.29 billion) in Zhengzhou city, the capital of central Henan province. The projects that include six new subway lines are expected to span 326.54 km when completed by 2024. 2-Jul-2019 Xian Urban The National Development and Reform railway Commission approved seven urban railway projects worth a total of 96.85 billion yuan ($13.86 billion) in Xian, capital of northwestern Shaanxi province. 22-Jul-2019 From High-speed The National Development and Reform Zhengzhou railway Commission approved a 40.93 billion to Jinan yuan ($5.86 billion) high-speed railway project linking Zhengzhou, the capital of Henan province, with Jinan, the capital of neighbouring Shandong province. The project is expected to be completed in 4 years. 22-Jul-2019 From Heze High-speed The National Development and Reform to Lankao railway Commission approved a 10.95 billion yuan ($1.57 billion) high-speed railway project linking Lankao, a county in Henan province, with Heze, a city in Shandong. The project is expected to be completed in 3-1/2 years. 11-Sep-2019 From High-speed The National Development and Reform Chongqing railway Commission approved a 141.62 billion to yuan ($19.90 billion) high-speed Kunming railway project linking the southwestern municipality of Chongqing and Kunming, the capital of Yunnan province. 25-Dec-2019 From High-speed The National Development and Reform Shenyang railway Commission approved a 72.29 billion to Baihe yuan ($10.34 billion) high-speed railway project linking the two cities in the northeastern provinces of Liaoning and Jilin. 25-Dec-2019 From Railway The National Development and Reform Baotou to Commission approved two railway Yinchuan projects linking those cities in Inner to Mongolia and Ningxia regions with a Huinong; total investment of 54.63 billion yuan From ($7.81 billion).
