China Dec rare earth exports rebound; annual shipments lowest since 2015

BEIJING, Jan 14 (Reuters) - China’s rare earth exports bounced back in December from a 4-1/2 year-low seen the previous month, customs data showed on Tuesday, rising 38.7% to 3,657 tonnes and easing fears that the world’s major producer of the minerals will restrict supply.

Full-year shipments from China, the world’s top producer of the group of 17 minerals used in consumer electronics and military equipment, came in at 46,330 tonnes in 2019, the lowest annual total since 2015, data from the General Administration of Customs showed.
