China regulator launches debt committee rules for troubled borrowers

SHANGHAI, Sept 9 (Reuters) - China’s banking regulator said on Friday that creditors of a troubled borrower can set up debt committees to assist with debt difficulties.

Any financial institutions connected to the borrower, in principle, can join such committees, although doing so is voluntary, the China Banking Regulatory Commission said in a notice posted on its website. (Reporting by Engen Tham; Editing by Jacqueline Wong)
