BEIJING, May 7 (Reuters) - China’s meat imports in the first four months of 2020 rose 82% year-on-year to 3.03 million tonnes, according to the General Administration of Customs, as it sought proteins including pork, with a fatal disease decimating its pig herd.
April meat imports were 862,000 tonnes, according to data released by customs on Thursday.
Customs did not break the data down into pork, beef and poultry imports. (Reporting by Shivani Singh; Editing by Muralikumar Anantharaman)
