Utility carbon price only 'significant'- Lieberman

WASHINGTON, June 15 (Reuters) - Legislation to put a price on carbon dioxide just for the electric utility sector, instead of more broadly through the U.S. economy, would be “a significant step forward,” Senator Joseph Lieberman said on Tuesday.

With Senate support for broad climate control legislation this year in question, Lieberman responded to a question from Reuters by saying he and Senator John Kerry nonetheless will “fight for more” than a utility-only carbon-control plan.
