BRUSSELS, March 30 (Reuters) - Belgium's largest car distributor D'Ieteren IETB.BR said on Friday it had exercised a call option for 31 million euros ($41.36 million) to raise its interest in vehicle glass replacement business Belron. D'Ieteren said in a statement it had exercised the call on 3.65 percent of the equity capital of Belron owned by Cobepa to increase its interest in Belron to 77.38 percent from 73.73 percent effective on April 2.
Cobepa’s share would fall to 16.35 percent from 20 percent. D’Ieteren said there was no other change in the composition of the equity capital of Belron.
D'Ieteren, which distributes Volkswagen- and Porsche-owned brands in Belgium, also has a a majority stake in Europe's biggest car rental company Avis Europe AVE.L.
