Nov 2 (Reuters) - Healthcare staffing provider Cross Country Healthcare Inc (CCRN.O) posted a better-than-expected quarterly profit, citing improvement in contract booking within nursing and allied staffing business, and forecast fourth-quarter earnings in line with estimates.
Cross Country expects fourth-quarter earnings of 2 cents to 4 cents a share, on revenue of $120 million to $123 million, the company said in a statement.
Analysts were expecting earnings of 3 cents a share on revenue of $137.1 million.
For the third quarter, the company reported net income of $968,000, or 3 cents a share, compared with $6.2 million, or 20 cents a share, a year ago.
Revenue fell 27 percent to $129.6 million.
Analysts expected earnings of 2 cents a share on revenue of $132.4 million.
