Virginia governor signs consumer privacy legislation as other states weigh action

Virginia has become the second state in the U.S. to enact a baseline privacy law, following in the footsteps of California.

Virginia Governor Ralph Northam on Tuesday signed into law the Consumer Data Protection Act, which will take effect in January 2023.
