AMSTERDAM, March 6 (Reuters) - Belgian supermarket group Delhaize DELB.BR and Unilever (ULVR.L) said on Friday they had ended a pricing row which kept many of the consumer goods company’s products off store shelves.
Delhaize said last month it halted orders for 300 Unilever lines from Belgian stores after price talks ended in deadlock. It previously cancelled 70 Unilever lines last October.
Unilever normally supplies Delhaize with 480 products.
“The balanced agreement means a positive outcome for both parties and the consumer,” the two companies said in a joint statement.
Delhaize spokesman Hans Michiels did not indicate how many products the deal covered. A Unilever spokeswoman also declined to say what types of products were involved.
“Our products will start reappearing very quickly,” the Unilever spokeswoman, Aurelie Gerth said.
A survey from agency Brandhome has indicated Delhaize was losing customers to rivals Colruyt COLB.BR and Carrefour (CARR.PA) over its decision to stop stocking some Unilever products. (Reporting by Aaron Gray-Block; Editing by David Cowell)
