Denmark plans to close airspace due volcanic ash

COPENHAGEN, April 15 (Reuters) - Denmark expects to close its airspace towards 1600 GMT on Thursday because of a cloud of volcanic ash from an eruption in Iceland, air traffic controller Navair said.

The Danish part of the North Sea air space is already closed and a Navair spokesman said further sectors would be closed throughout the day as the cloud moves across the country.

Copenhagen Airport said in a statement the airport would close around 1500 GMT and it could not say when flights would resume. (Reporting by Anna Ringstrom)
