Feb 19 (Reuters) - The top U.S. securities regulator said Diageo Plc agreed to pay a $5 million penalty to settle charges it failed to make required disclosures related to the shipments of unneeded products by its North American unit to distributors.
Diageo did not admit or deny wrongdoing in agreeing to settle the civil charges announced on Wednesday by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. (Reporting by Jonathan Stempel in New York)
