MOSCOW, Feb 20 (Reuters) - Russia's anti-monpoly agency on Friday blocked the formation of a joint venture between Walt Disney DIS.N and Russia's Media-One Holdings which had planned to broadcast content across Russia, Interfax reported.
A unit of Walt Disney called Catalpa Investments Ltd has been seeking to take a 49 percent stake in MO-TV-Holdings Ltd, a proposed joint venture with Russian broadcaster Media One, Interfax said, citing the anti-trust body and a source close to the deal.
The joint venture was meant to allow Disney to launch a channel in Russia, the report said. (Reporting by James Kilner and Simon Shuster; Editing by David Cowell)
