Egypt denies plain clothes police in protest-TV

CAIRO, Feb 2 (Reuters) - Egypt’s Interior Ministry denied on Wednesday charges by anti-government protesters that plain clothes police were involved in protests that turned violent in Cairo’s central Tahrir Square, state television reported.

Anti-government protesters gathered in the square had blamed police dressed in civilian clothes for the violence that erupted. (Writing by Edmund Blair)
