IN BRIEF: Jones Day won't fight 'immaterial' amendments to sex bias complaint

Jones Day on Monday agreed to drop its objections to new claims that six female former associates suing the firm for sex discrimination recently added to their lawsuit, saying it wants to avoid protracted litigation on the issue.

The firm in a brief filing said that factual allegations the plaintiffs added in the June complaint were “immaterial (and) impertinent,” but that fighting it would only lead to more amendments and motions later on.
