ISTANBUL, June 3 (Reuters) - Turkish construction-to-energy company Enka Insaat (ENKAI.IS) on Tuesday posted a small drop in its consolidated first quarter net profit to 148.3 million lira ($121 million), from 148.5 million lira a year earlier.
Enka Insaat, which also operates in Russia, said sales were 1.96 billion lira in the first quarter, up from 1.49 billion lira during the same period last year.
The company said its revenues in the engineering and construction sector rose 71 percent to 840 million lira and that its backlog in that sector amounted to $7.6 billion.
Enka Insaat, which has said it plans to bid to build Turkey’s first nuclear power plant, said revenues from energy generation amounted to 765 million lira in the first quarter. (Reporting by Thomas Grove; Editing by David Cowell)
