Potter finale fastest-selling ever

LONDON (Reuters) - Bloomsbury, the publisher of the Harry Potter books, said on Monday it sold 2.7 million copies of the seventh and final instalment in the first 24 hours in the UK, breaking the previous record of 2.0 million set by the sixth volume.

“Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” also sold around 8.3 million copies in the United States during the first 24 hours, up from 6.9 million for “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” in 2005.
