Italy's Salvini says will not accept EU agriculture cuts

ROME, Oct 5 (Reuters) - The Italian government will block any moves by the European Commission to cut spending on agriculture, Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini said on Friday.

In an effort to cut costs and promote other policies, the European Commission in May proposed to cut farm aid in the 2021-2027 period to 365 billion euros ($438 billion), down 5 percent from the current CAP.
