LONDON, April 1 (Reuters) - Carbon dioxide emissions from the power sector in the European Union’s emissions trading scheme (ETS) rose 2.4 percent in 2010, based on preliminary data from the European Commission on Friday.
All other sectors in the scheme showed a rise of 6.4 percent last year, the incomplete data showed.
The data was based on emissions reported by 84.7 percent of firms participating in the scheme. The figures include data from non-EU members Iceland, Norway and Liechtenstein, although installations from Cyprus, Greece and Malta had not reported numbers.
As a whole, emissions in the ETS rose by 3.5 percent in 2010, in line with analyst expectations. (Reporting by Nina Chestney)
