Germany says has no assessment of Portugal bailout

BERLIN, May 4 (Reuters) - The German government said it had no assessment of the 78-billion-euro bailout Portugal agreed to with the European Union and the IMF, a government spokesman said on Wednesday.

“We have not yet made an assessment because we don’t yet have the details,” Chancellor Angela Merkel’s spokesman Steffen Seibert said. The size of Germany’s contribution would depend on on the concrete details of the rescue package, he added.
