Dec 7 (Reuters) - Evertz Technologies Ltd (ET.TO), a Canadian broadcast equipment company, posted higher second-quarter results, helped in part by a surge in international sales.
For the August-October quarter, the Burlington, Ontario-based company’s net income rose to C$20.9 million, or 28 Canadian cents a share, from C$17.5 million, or 23 Canadian cents a share, a year earlier.
Sales rose 13 percent to C$82.3 million.
Analysts on average had expected earnings of 28 Canadian cents per share, on revenue of C$78.6 million, according to Thomson Reuters I/B/E/S.
Sales in the international region rose by 42 percent for the quarter, the company said.
Shares of the company, which have gained 9 percent in value since posting first-quarter results in September, closed at C$18.24 Tuesday on the Toronto Stock Exchange. (Reporting by Isheeta Sanghi in Bangalore; Editing by Gopakumar Warrier)
