OG Adam Redmond was elevated to the Colts’ 53-man roster from the practice squad on Saturday. The 6-6, 300-pound Redmond was signed to the Colts’ practice squad last Sunday. He participated in the team’s 2017 offseason program and training camp before being waived during final cuts on Sept. 2. Redmond, 24, signed a reserve/future contract with Indianapolis on Jan. 2 after spending most of the 2016 season on the practice squad.
RB Matt Jones was waived after one week with the Colts. The 6-2, 239-pound Jones was claimed by Indianapolis off waivers last Sunday after being cut by the Redskins. The 24-year-old Jones, a third-round pick in 2015, lost his starting job in Washington last season. He played in 20 career games (seven starts) for the Redskins, with 243 carries for 950 yards and six touchdowns. He caught 27 passes for 377 yards and one TD. He also fumbled eight times with the Redskins, losing six.
