WR Rishard Matthews has been one of the Titans’ most consistent performers in camp and preseason thus far. He is coming off a career year where he had 65 receptions a year ago.
LB Aaron Wallace, who had been having a solid camp, was backed down due to a lower back injury that will sideline him for a few days.
CB Kalan Reed did not practice Thursday against the Panthers. The Titans did not disclose the reason for holding him out. Reed played well in the preseason opener, seeing time at both cornerback and safety.
CB Adoree’ Jackson continues to impress in his quest to grab a starting role. Not yet in the starting lineup, Jackson broke up a Cam Newton pass in one-on-ones, and later picked off Joe Webb in team drills.
RB DeMarco Murray has looked solid in his return from a hamstring injury that lasted about two weeks. He practiced Monday night and worked both days against Carolina. He is expected to play Saturday vs. the Panthers.
WR Eric Decker made the catch of the day Wednesday, hauling in a pass over the top of Captain Munnerlyn in one-on-ones. However, he twisted his ankle and did not finish practice. He did not practice on Thursday and will be held out of Saturday’s game.
DE Karl Klug was back from a sprained left ankle and could make his preseason debut Saturday. He is coming back from Achilles surgery on the same leg from last December.
DE Jurrell Casey was given the day off on Thursday after working on Wednesday. He is apparently not dealing with any injury.
