The firm said Melody Bryant has joined it as a principal to work alongside founder and managing partner Carl Kempner to ramp up its long/short equity hedge fund platform.
The wealth and life building firm appointed Kenneth Hart as chief executive, effective Jan. 1. Hart joined the firm in 1994. He has most recently served as president and chief client relationship officer.
The company said its founder and former CEO Robert Trenner stepped down from full time employment as of Dec. 31, 2010 but continues to stay involved with the company in his role as executive chairman.
The firm named Rufus Warner as chief executive. Warner joined from Earth Capital Partners LLP. However, he will continue as chairman of the investment committee at Earth Capital.
SOCIETE GENERALE CORPORATE & INVESTMENT BANKING
The investment banking arm of Societe Generale (SOGN.PA) named Stephane Hild as chief country officer for Switzerland, effective Jan. 3. Hild was chief country officer in Poland.
STANDARD CHARTERED (STAN.L)
The bank said it appointed Katherine Tsang as chairperson of the board of Standard Chartered Bank (Hong Kong) Ltd, effective Jan. 1. She has been with the bank since 1992 and had been appointed CEO China in 2005.
The British fund manager named Irina Miklavchich as fund manager, global emerging markets equities. Miklavchich joins from Goldman Sachs (GS.N) where she was an executive director in the principal strategies group.
The firm appointed Jonathan Coddington and James Murray as partners and named Bob Pringle head of equity capital markets.
The company hired Guillaume Menabe as junior portfolio manager on the Finisterre global opportunity fund. Menabe joined from JP Morgan where he was a portfolio manager.
The company named Nick Wakefield to its private wealth team. He was an analyst and fund manager at Ashburton and Orchard.
The company named Michel Piette and Ittan Ali as investment managers. Piette co-founded Moonraker Fund Management in 2008 and was earlier a hedge fund analyst at BDO Stoy Hayward Investment Management. Ali has previously worked at Majedie Investments as senior investment manager and analyst for the global equity fund.
