Fonterra says March milk output in New Zealand falls 8 pct

May 3 (Reuters) - Dairy group Fonterra on Friday said milk production in March dropped 8 percent year-on-year in New Zealand, as hot weather across the region continued to hamper collection.

Milk collection declined 9 percent in New Zealand during the month, the company said in a statement.

Australian milk production fell 13 percent in February as sustained drought conditions caused higher input costs in the region, Fonterra said.
