Freedom Mortgage sued over telemarketing robocalls

A new lawsuit accuses Mount Laurel, New Jersey-based Freedom Mortgage Corp of violating federal law by making unwanted calls to thousands of customers to market its services and ignoring requests that the calls stop.

Filed on Wednesday in federal court in Camden, New Jersey, the lawsuit said Freedom Mortgage used about 300 loan officers in six call centers to make telemarketing calls to try to sell refinancing loans to customers with a mortgage loan issued or serviced by the company.
