German trade body slashes 2019 export growth forecast

BERLIN, Oct 8 (Reuters) - The BGA trade association on Tuesday slashed its forecast for 2019 German export growth to a maximum of 0.5% from a previous prediction of 1.5%, pointing to U.S. trade policies that caught German businesses off guard and Brexit.

It said imports would increase by 2% in 2019 and the trade situation would only improve in the second half of 2020 at the earliest.
