Explosives in package sent to Germany's Merkel

BERLIN, Nov 2 (Reuters) - A suspicious package found in the mail on Tuesday at German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s office contained explosives, Interior Minister Thomas de Maiziere said.

The package was sent from Greece two days ago, he told a news conference. Security experts rendered the package harmless.

“We don’t yet have final results on how dangerous the explosive was and what it was made of,” De Maiziere said. (Reporting by Dave Graham; Editing by Charles Dick)
