German committee sees solar deal in July - sources

BERLIN, June 17 (Reuters) - A German parliamentary mediation committee charged with resolving a political impasse over proposed cuts to solar incentives reached no conclusions at a meeting late on Wednesday, participants said. A solution can, however, be expected by the beginning of July, said the sources, who declined to be named. One said there was no appetite to delay a decision until the autumn.

The proposed cuts include a 16 percent reduction in so-called feed-in tariffs for new rooftop solar installations and had originally been due to take effect on July 1.

The Bundestag lower house has already passed the cuts but the plans stumbled in the Bundesrat upper house. (Reporting by Markus Wacket; Editing by David Holmes)
