Millennium Bank-Greece gets a new chief executive

ATHENS, July 29 (Reuters) - Millennium Bank-Greece, a subsidiary of Portugal’s largest listed bank, Millennium bcp , said on Friday it has a new chief executive, Dimitris Romosios, taking over with immediate effect from Rui Coimbra.

Romosios was formerly head of the bank’s branch network in Greece and a member of the board of directors.

His predecessor Coimbra, who took over as CEO at Millennium in May 2010, will assume new duties for the group in Portugal. Coimbra had been a deputy finance minister in Portugal in 2001-02.

Millennium Bank has been in Greece for 10 years and has a network of 155 branches.

Parent BCP said earlier in July that its new strategy is focused on Portugal, Africa, Asia and Brazil and that it now sees its other European markets as non-core. (Reporting by George Georgiopoulos; Editing by Greg Mahlich)
