IN BRIEF: 7th Circuit orders discovery in privacy-rights case against Groupon

A federal judge in Illinois must determine whether a complaint against Groupon under the state’s Right of Privacy law meets the diversity requirements of the Class Action Fairness Act, the 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals held Wednesday.

In an apparent split with the 11th Circuit, the court remanded the case to the district court with instructions to conduct limited discovery on the diversity question.
