Lawsuit accuses Aetna of revealing patients' HIV information

Aetna Inc has been hit with a proposed class action lawsuit accusing it of violating customers’ privacy by mailing out envelopes that revealed information for potentially thousands of people taking HIV medications.

The lawsuit was filed on Monday in federal court in Philadelphia after news emerged that Aetna had notified 12,000 customers that in some cases their information was visible through an window of an envelope used for a recent mailing.
