LONDON, March 16 (Reuters) - British people need to stop non-essential contact with each other and avoid unnecessary travel to slow the spread of the coronavirus, Prime Minister Boris Johnson said on Monday.

“Now is the time for everyone to stop non essential contact with others and to stop all unnecessary travel,” Johnson said at a news conference. He said people should avoid pubs, clubs and theatres. (Reporting by Kylie MacLellan, writing by David Milliken; editing by Guy Faulconbridge)
