Ireland speeds up cautious reopening of economy

DUBLIN, June 5 (Reuters) - Ireland is to accelerate the cautious reopening of its economy, with the final phase of easing restrictions to begin three weeks earlier than planned, acting prime minister Leo Varadkar announced on Friday.

Under the revised schedule, large retailers will be allowed to resume trading from Monday and hotels from the end of the month, both three weeks ahead of schedule. The final phase will begin on July 20 instead of Aug. 10. (Reporting by Padraic Halpin and Conor Humphries; Editing by Kevin Liffey)
