Senate aims to draft coronavirus economic bill over weekend -McConnell

WASHINGTON, March 20 (Reuters) - U.S. Senate Republican Leader Mitch McMonnell on Friday said staff would meet over the weekend to draft legislation aimed at stemming the economic fallout over the coronavirus outbreak based on any agreement reached in ongoing negotiations.

“The secretary of the Treasury has indicated it’s important for us to be on the Senate floor and to pass the measure on Monday,” he told reporters, adding that the goal was to complete talks on the proposal by midnight on Friday.
