Endo hit with investor lawsuit after pulling opioid

Endo International PLC has been hit with a shareholder lawsuit claiming it misrepresented the safety of its opioid painkiller Opana ER, which the drugmaker recently pulled from the market amid pressure by the Food and Drug Administration.

The proposed class action lawsuit was filed on Friday in federal court in Philadelphia and accused Endo of deceiving investors into buying its stock at artificially inflated prices before the truth about the drug’s abuse potential emerged.
