E.ON in nuclear cooperation with Areva, Siemens

FRANKFURT, April 23 (Reuters) - E.ON EONG.DE said on Wednesday it had picked Areva CEPFi.PA and Siemens SIEGn.DE as partners for new nuclear power stations in Britain and elsewhere.

In a joint statement, it also said it would pick the 1,600 megawatts advanced pressurised-water reactor EPR of Areva and the conventional island of Siemens to build new nuclear plants in the UK.

It will also enter into long-term partnerships with the two companies in nuclear service and maintenance, research and development, it said.
